Growing Pains: Knowing the Season You’re In

A lot of us are beginning to feel growing pains. It hurts, it’s uncomfortable and feels a little suffocating! Like there’s just not enough room to breathe. The good news is that it’s a sign we’re growing! 🙌🏾

Growth can be uncomfortable especially when we don’t know what’s happening. We just know it requires more of us to do the samethings we used to do with ease. There may even be a stretch mark or two especially in areas we are fighting to hold onto instead of allowing God to stretch us. Stretch our faith, our expectations, heck even our capacity for Him.

You used to pray once a day and that was enough but now you’re required 5hrs a day just to get by.

🎶 Maybe God is trying to tell you something 🎶

Have you asked? Have you sat still enough to hear from Him on YOUR behalf? Not on your friend’s behalf or your family, but yours? We’re good for going the extra mile with God for everyone else’s pain but our own.

So, today I ask you, are they growing pains or a something else?

Knowing what season you’re in is very vital...as I’m finding out. How the heck can we begin to prepare and go with the flow of God if we don’t know which way He’s flowing?

How do we find out....

1. Ask God

2. Get still, stay still no matter what distractions come and they WILL come

3. Listen for His voice

Trust me I’m not telling y’all anything that I’ve not experienced and still experiencing now! In this season,

I‘ve wanted an answer from anyone BUT God.

Because His answer required being still when it felt like I was drowning. Sadly enough I trusted what I felt and saw over who He is! I wanted answers NOW...notice a pattern here.

That’s a running theme in my life and one I’m learning to pay attention to. Why? Well because the lies we hold true, “I know better than God”, can become a playground for the enemy to skew our view of God and even bring torment in a time when we already feel as though we’re drowning.

It’s oh so vital to root ourselves in truth and check the lies at the door before they can even begin to take root.

So, what do we do when they‘ve already have taken root? We must do the work to uproot those suckers! That means aligning ourselves with God and what he has to say on the subject, I mean we have a whole Bible that speaks truth even when we feel we’re unable to hear from God! Start digging in and I just bet you’ll find what you’re looking for!

🗣 We don’t want no LIES, let those mmmmmm DIE!

Y’all know what the “mmmmmm” stands for, yea none of those over here either lol

Back to our regularly scheduled program:

I wanted answers but wasn’t willing to be still and listen for them! And when I finally did, they didn’t make sense in the mist of the chaos I was experiencing, so I excused them but kept asking God the same ol’ questions! 🤦🏽‍♀️

How crazy is that! I hope you hear me clear on this one....learn from my mistakes,

what God said yesterday is still true to today!

God knows all so we should begin to rest knowing he’s already accounted for the wave consuming us, in fact he’s accounted for that and every wave that is lined up behind it. Let him build that endurance in you! I’ll say it again, with emphasis this time.

Let him build that endurance in you!

I’m learning to...is it fun, not by a long shot, but it’s vital in order to withstand what is on the horizon as we move forward! How do we do that?

1. By not fighting the process

2. By trusting God in the process

3. By doing the work (whatever it maybe) He’s given us to complete in this season

There’s a reason distraction comes everytime you sit down to write....to build the business or course...to do whatever God has asked of you!

There’s someone waiting for what God has given you! Don’t delay, and don’t you dare pick up condemnation for your lack of effort.

Whatever it is God is pulling on your heartstrings to do (keyword being God, not man). Pick it back up and begin work on it again.Trust that God has you and will see this thing through to completion WITH you!

So, now that you’re here at the end can you answer that question...is what you’re feeling growing pains or something else? It’s okay if you’re still unsure, but I challenge you to take this opportunity to get before God and find out so that you can begin to swim in this season instead of barely treading water! Go ahead, put that phone on silent and go be with God! You’re worth knowing and the purpose on your life requires clarity that only God can give!
