Is it righteous to be right?

I get it wrong...a lot of the time! 

My heart isn’t always in the right place...

I don’t always listen to what God says...

I don’t always choose the righteous response to others...

Today I found myself grieved, again!

Yet again, I chased after what was “right” instead of righteous. 

Is there a difference? 🤔 

Most definitely! The facts can be on our side, we can have our ducks lined up in a row....but if we don’t have love, what good is it?

Remember, 1 Corinthians 13:2? Take a gander at it again...

Ten years ago I would be thinking about time when saying that, oh but now lol. I bet images of your favorite videos are flashing through your mind as we speak. Funny how time has a way of changing the connotation of things.

Okay, okay.

What good is it to be right if it’s expressed from a place of:

HATRED?

HURT?

SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS?

DESIRE TO HARM OTHERS?

Many of you are reading this as you prepare to sit at the table with loved ones who believe differently than you, have had different experiences than you, and thus a vastly different worldview. Today I challenge you to put the facts down and act from a place of love, speak when God gives you the green light especially if you’re in a hostile environment.

Choose love, and not what we proclaim as love, but what God says love is.
